Today I mailed the following letter to Senator Clinton. It kinda tells you where I'm at. Still fighting. For the right thing. Guess I haven't changed my brain much since the picture above, huh?

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton
Russell Building, Suite 476
United States Senate
Washington, DC 20510

July 24, 2007

Re: World Trade Center Disease And ReliefDear Senator Clinton,

First of all, please let me thank you for your letter dated March 19, 2007 in which you provided me with your correspondence with my insurance company. It is a shame, even after a stern letter from you, they refuse to pay for the medical care I need from the events of September 11, 2001. I know you have tried and I also know the insurance companies are ruining the healthcare system of this country. Thank you, anyway

.
Today I am writing to you because I feel there is much more that can be done for victims of this tragedy that isn’t being done. Yesterday, after waiting almost A FULL YEAR, I went to the Bellevue Hospital WTC program. All did not go well.

Before I even discuss what is wrong with this program (which is quite obvious), I’d like to discuss what is right. What is right is the idea of it, and the people working so hard to make this program work. From the nurses at the reception desk to the nice doctors I met in the exam rooms, I must say these people are working as hard as they can. They are professional, informative as much as they can be under the circumstances, and most of all, kind. It is a blessing that such a program exists, and I am so happy that it is now FINALLY open to residents as well as workers. Everyone was kind, even though they were completely overworked.

And the overworked part I’d like to address first. From what I understand, There are only 2 full time doctors on staff. On top of that, only 6 part time ones. There are only a few examination rooms, 4 therapists working on this program, 1 shrink, and only 1 full time nurse! All of this to treat the TENS OF THOUSANDS of people ill from September 11th? Something is wrong here.

I recently read that The WTC Health Program was allotted 50 million dollars from congress so far. With this skeleton crew, and tiny practice space, I have to ask myself, “Where is the other 49 and 1/2 million dollars?” I urge you to please make sure this program gets all the funds it needs.

Secondly, after talking to a couple of doctors at length, it was explained to me that an arbitrary line has been drawn through the human body. It seems that The WTC Health Program only treats problems from the stomach up to the sinuses. So no top of head, and nothing below the stomach. This made-up line reminds me of the line drawn after 9/11 regarding the “frozen zone”. If you can remember correctly, a line was drawn through Canal Street saying that the dust did not go above that line. I don’t know about you, but I certainly didn’t see a 30,000 foot wall blocking the airflow that day. That line, and this one, are insane.

As you know, I have been “lucky” enough to not only get a blast of this stuff in my lungs, sinuses, and stomach, but also in my intestines and colon, where they have already removed chunks of my body. Of course, I am now facing many more problems including the need for more surgery very, very soon. When I discussed this with the Bellevue doctors, I was informed that they could do nothing because “the program has not allocated any funds for that.” I told the doctors that my problems were due to 9/11 illness, and of that, they had NO DOUBT. But they said “their hands were tied” and I should go to the Emergency Room. I asked if I did, would that be paid for, and they said, very clearly, “No!”

After asking more questions, and talking to others, I found out that the clinic really just handles lung and sinus stuff. And heartburn from all that metallic garbage we all breathed in. So I have to ask, what about all the other symptoms a lot of us are having? I know plenty of firefighters and cops in the same position as me. I also know plenty of people with tumors and cysts in the various parts of their bodies (including myself), and lots and lots of cancer. Why is this not being handled by the FIFTY MILLION (50) DOLLARS allocated to this program? Why are we left on our own to fend for ourselves? In essence, why are we just left to die?

While I understand that this program is “mainly research”, and that will be helpful to many others in the future, there has got to be treatments to help us survive now. I urge you, I plead with you, please make this program work for ALL THOSE HARMED from that horrible day the terrorists attacked us, and the health effects that our own government covered up.

In closing, I’d just like to say that I think you are a great leader, and even having started this program is a huge accomplishment. I really hope you follow through and help all of us who are ill. After all, I really believe you will be the next President of our great nation. As the Senator from New York, you must know the old saying that “Charity begins at home.” I certainly hope you can act on that.

Sincerely,

George Tabb

Thanks to Mickey Leigh I got to do "Warthog" again this year at the Joey Ramone dead guy Birthday Party to raise money to fight cancer! Yay!!!See It HERE! Funny story....Mickey (Joey's brother) calls me the day of the show and says, "George, last year I heard you had the lyrics in your hands while you sang!". I told him that was not true, that they were on the monitors, before the set even started, and no one could see them but the band. He then tells me some website saw them and thinks I "cheated". I laughed and told him that was funny. He didn't think so and told me as much. So I said, "How am I gonna remember the words to "warthog" this year? They're hard and stupid!" He told me Joey had to remember 40 songs, me, just one! "But I have ADHD," I explained as I popped a ritilin. "Just remember the song," Mickey says. I tell him I'll try, but I am gonna "cheat". He laughed and said I better not. So, see that black armband I'm wearing above? It has a clear plastic sleeve for things...I printed out the lyrics to the song and had them facing me the whole time I sang! Only thing I didn't bank on was because I was so paranod about forgetting the words, I managed to memorize them! Punk Rock!! Oh, and it was great seeing Jayne County, Jeff Magnum, Tommy Ramone, JP Patterson, Al Maddy, Bubbles, Monte, and all the rest of the gang. But it also just made me miss Dee Dee, John, and Joey more. Doh!

Naggers. I love South Park. Darker humor than anything I've ever seen - and more morals than you get from church. Thank God for those guys.

Health is crappy, so I've been finding some cool stuff on the net. Above is the flier from the infamous Roach Motel / Dead Kennedys / Rat Cafeteria show! Thanks to Mean Mike for that! What a show! Infact, it was a Riot! (Read the next book). Below that is a picture of me and Mike from Rat Cafeteria on stage when we were opening for Black Flag. Notice Greg Ginn's amp behind us! Punk Rock! Under that is a photo from my favorite Mutley Chick, Deb. It's of Atoms For Peace at The Metro in Gainesville. New Wave, baby. The dates of these things are '81 - '83. Feeling old yet?

Happy Birthday to the Seths! Anyway, just posted the "George Tabb vs. The EPA" on MSNBC on youtube. Click here for part one. Click here for part two. Check out how Christine Todd Whitman changes facts and passes the buck, and lies out her poopie hole. Oh this was her LAST live interview as the head of the EPA. Oh well, don't fuck with Scooter's dad! Oh, this was early 2002.

Yee Haw. Gears Of War rocks for the Xbox 360. Right now I'm trying to find some work, but it's kinda hard as I can't be out of the house for more than 2 hours. But hopefully that will change as I get better. My shrink mentioned the word "disabled" to me and it kinda threw me for a loop. Arrgh. I'm gettin' better, and that's that.

Last week my friend Charlotte passed away. Many of you knew her as the mother of Joey Ramone and Mickey Leigh. She was 80 and going strong, so it was quite a surprise. Anyway, she totally rocked, and kind of was like a surragate mom to me. She always had good advice, and I could see the love for her sons evertime I looked in her eyes. I will miss her deeply as will her family. She rocked. In that oh-so-loving mom sort of way.

This photo, taken pal the wonderful CJ, shows the Hunan (take-out only) Monica, some putz, and Debbie. I mean, Debra. Or whatever name she uses these days. I know here as Debbie from The False Prophets. My Marshall Twin, and a person who really rocks. I got to see them through my lawyer pal, Dan, recently. Yay!!!!

Happy Martin Luther King day! Me? I'd have gone with the fried chicken and watermelon. It would have been more honest. Punk rock! Oh, and while we're at it, Cabbie Soup, anyone?

Bear Tabb, a member of the North Carolina Tabb family, passed away yesterday. I'll miss him dearly as will his immediate family, but know he's gone on to doggie heaven. His eyes showed me wisdom of the ages. His bark was his bite, and how sweet those love nips were. R.I.P., Bear.
