January 3, 2003:

Not much new here in New York post 9/11. Downtown is still toxic - so we're at Nick's. Scooter just got a haircut, and the Dean Dean And The Sex Machines interview I wrote for The New York Press ran this week. I am currently recovering from a New Year's hang-over that's really just a hang-over from last week's hang-over which is really just a hang-over from the week before. As far as the "band", it's still Furious George, I guess, even though we "broke-up". We've done some gigs after our "farewell" show. It's better this way. Then if I don't wanna play a show I just say "we broke up" which gives people sad faces. Ha! My column in Maximumrocknroll is still alive and kicking and I'm also doing video game reviews for Complex Magazine thanks to my pal, Alex. As far as video games I'm playing at the moment..I'm still doing Ratchett & Clank for The PS2, while just finishing Metroid Fusion for the GBA and now playing Zelda: Link To The Past. Great game!

January 15, 2003

I guess things change. Always. It seems The New York Press has been sold. While I certainly hope they keep the editorial content stays sorta the same, I somehow think it won't. First off, John Strausbaugh isn't the editor anymore. While I have FULL faith in new editor, Lisa Kearns, someone who certainly worked her way into the position and totally rules, not to mention that she's loved by Scooter, New York is an unstable place. As is the rest of the world, I suppose. In Furious George news, we are doing a gig in April with Johnnie Whoa Oh's new band, as well as The Groovie Ghoulies, The Apers, and other bands on Stardumb Records...who rule. They're a label from Holland or something, and they seem to be what Lookout! used to be. Sorry to those of you I've somehow lost contact with over the last year or so. Ever since 9/11 I know I've been sorta fucked in the head. I am having trouble understanding what I saw, what it means, and how I fit in. Meanwhile, I'm playing GTA VC and Zelda for GBA and loving it! Anyway, punk rock!

January 29, 2003

Important news! Just finished Grand Theft Auto: Vice City! What a game! Still doing the Zelda thing, and kickin' it with Ratchett and Clank. If you haven't checked out that PS2 title...do so! Alright, anyway, I'm playing lots of games 'cause it's fucking freezing outside. Like way to cold. So cold that yesterday Scootie got sick. He was shivering and his stomach was louder than my Marshall half-stack. Anyway, speaking of loud guitars, it seems ROACH MOTEL is doing a reunion in Florida on March 22 and March 23. More details on the way, plus maybe a show the 21st as well! This is gonna be way fun as I haven't seen the guys in years. As in about 20. I guess our next reunion will contain senior citizens. This is pathetic. I love the punk rock! Anyway, check out the MP3 page as there are a couple of new tunes up, including a Roach Motel one from forever ago! Oh, and about the New York Press, Lisa quit, so now Jeff is taking over. Jeff is a good guy and very nice. But I'm gonna miss Strausbaugh. Then again, I just saw him the other night. He goes!

February 12, 2003

Okay. Just finished Zelda for GBA. Amazing! Want to announce that infact, I AM DOING the ROACH MOTEL reunion in florida. Click HERE to read more info from Frank's cool page on all the Roach Motel news you could ever want. As for Furious George...we are doing a show with Dirt Bike Annie and The Groovie Ghoulies in April at CBGB thanks to Jonnie Whoa Oh and Stardumb! Records. Also..I'm gonna be in the LA area the end of February..so if you know how to reach me, do so. Let's hang out, dudes!

March 17, 2003

Well, after all, I'm NOT touring with Roach Motel. It seems it would be better, as 20 year old disputes really can not be settled by in The Punk Rock. Oh well. Anyway, just got back from Phoenix and California. I loved Phoenix! Nice Place. The drivers in California are out of their fucking minds. More news very soon!

April 8, 2003

Okay, so no Roach Motel Tour, however, I hear they were fun and click HERE to see pics of good o'l Eric, Frank, Jeff & Bob. Other News....the picture up above is the current state of the building I used to live in in Tribeca. They are stripping everything off the walls, floor, etc, and just carted off my belongings to the World Trade Center toxic dump in Staten Island. Needless to say, Armagaddonouttahere. It looks like we are going to temporarily relocate to Phoenix for a bit. The fresh air will do us good, and Scooter is looking forward to all the strippers that live out there. Plus, we're all tired of being on terrorist alert, and, we figure the scariest thing out there is those damn Scorpians we keep hearing about. But who can REALLY be afraid of a bunch of tuneless Germans?

April 27, 2003

So it's a done deal. We got the house in Arizona, and we should be outta here within a week and a half. We had to throw away most of our stuff, and the rest we'll move very soon. We're staying at Nick's until we leave - and just enjoying the winterish spring. Scooter's hair is getting to long and he's beginning to look like Shaggy John Strausbaugh. Hippie. Finished Winderwaker on GameCube and and quite amazed how fun it was. Putzing around with Red Faction 2 now. Anyway, people keep asking, "Is Furious George really gonna break-up?", to which I reply "Were we ever a real band?" What I mean is that, sure, we'll play again. Take a year off here, a few months there, what's the difference? I'll be back in the city in August for Wendy's trade show, so I'm sure we'll do a show then. Meanwhile, I'm now looking at all sorts of cars trying to figure out which one is best for us. Actually, which ones. We are gonna need 2 cars. It is Arizona. I'm thinking Honda Civic cause they get great milage and last forever. At longer than me. I'm gonna miss all my friends here, and people are asking if we are having a going away party. I don't know about Wendy, but I ain't. I'll be back soon enough, and if you really miss me, come out and hang by our pool. The booze is on me. It's cheap out there.

June 17, 2003

Greetings From Vice City:

Well, yup, we made it to Phoenix with whatever we could salvage from New York. Been here about a month now and really just moved into our new place. It's so big Scooter has his OWN bathroom, and our shower is like 5 feet by 6 feet! Wow! We also got a couple of cars, and just got the cable hooked up so I can now update this page and go back to surfin' the net for punk and pussy. As we were moving in, we found a mysterious note on our door. Something about "welcome to the village" and "we'll be watching you" or something. Then more about chaos and anarchy. At first I was convinced it was a bunch of punk rock kids trying to fuck with us. Then, the more I thought about it, the more I thought it wasn't. Punk Rock kids aren't smart enough. Besides, aren't they out usually begging for change? Finally, someone clues me in on "The Prisoner" references in the note, especially the picture of the bicycle with the one big tire. Cool. Anyway, turns out we have some pretty cool neighbors around here. Haven't really been to any clubs around here yet, except for one party where I met Heidi Klum and re-met O'Reilly from Oz. The smarter and undead one. I gotta thanks my pal Annette for that! Anyway, got lots of big plans for me and this place, and who knows, maybe I'll take over. Tommy Vincetti style, of course. But for now, well, I'm off to the pool. If you come out to join me, bring another beer, okay?

July 2, 2003

It's July here, and it's hot. It wouldn't be so bad if everything wasn't made out of cement. The reflected heat is what really makes you feel like you are in a blast furnace. But hey, no humidity yet, so who gives a fuck. You still stay dry..which rules. I hear in New York City they had no spring. It was winter until now. I hear it's totally summer there. What do I think? HA! Been playing three games lately besides shopping at Safeway, Costco, and Target. First, Splinter Cell. Eh.....great graphics, but it's really, really hard. Too hard. Then Brute Force for Xbox. While the graphics are nice - the game feels generic. It doesn't mean it isn't fun, though. And I'm sure the multi-player rocks. Just need to make some friends now. Also, Evil Dead: Fistfull Of Boomstick. This game, for $20, is worth the price. Lots of killing Zombies ala State Of Emergency (same company did both games), and the plot is pretty okay. Of course, the levels make NO sense..so, well, it's frustrating to figure out the logic. Actually, there is no logic. And, as we all know, Ash was pretty keen on logic. But what's cool about the game is the interview with Bruce Cambell. Worth the price alone. The man now has a mustache and gray hair. I don't feel so old. Other news...working on a Furious George show for the beginning of August in New York. Should be a blast and I'll post more later. Should be with Dean Dean and the Sex Machines. Oh, about the house - we are getting throw rugs today, so hopefully me and Scooter won't slip and slide like we have been. Other news: The Mexican Food here is awesome. I mean, holy cow! The carne Asada at this place called Armondos, which is open 24 hours, like my gym, is amazing. It's too bad I go to sleep before midnight now. Anyway, gotta start a band here cause I checked out two cool places with my friend, Heidi. One is "The Emerald Lounge". Imagine Mars Bar with a back room for bands and that's that! Then, The Rouge. Like Continental with pool tables. The punk scene here is awesome. And the beer, well, it REALLY cheap. The only problem now is the driving. Oh well. Punk Rock!

July 3, 2003

Okay, it's official. FURIOUS GEORGE show August 8th at The Continental In New York City. We are playing with none other than DEAN DEAN & THE SEX MACHINES. We go on at 11. Dean & Company at 10:15. For those of you who said "You ran outta town without saying good-bye", come to the show and beat me up. I'll be there and Mars Bar all night. Or maybe Manitobas and Ace Bar and Lit.......Also - NEW UPDATES to the site today. New song, new story, same o'l me.

July 9, 2003

It's hot out. Scooter has to go for walks late at night. Punk Rock! Okay...NEW UPDate on The Continental Show. It will now be THRUSDAY, AUGUST 7th. Dean Dean at around 9, us around 9:30. Come to the show and kick my ass for posting the original date wrong. Or cause I didn't say good-bye. Or just because you love to. Also, check out the new tune I posted this week! Punk Rock!

July 15, 2003

Vegas. What a weekend. The photo above is a view from my room at The "fuckin' oppulent" Bellagio. Paris across the street, New York a block away. I was surprised there were no terrorist alerts! Anyway, had a great time, Wendy visited, and we collected those hooker cards together. I got some great ones...like the "two for one" and "hot college girl". They make for a great game of Go-Fish. "Got a Bambi?" "Naw...go fish!". It was also very hot there. Like my pal Alex Porter says, "it's like a fucking blow-dryer is aimed at you all day!". It's true! The Midway games I went out to see look great and I'm gonna review one of 'em in Complex. Phoenix is getting, well, dusty. It's pretty amazing. Oh, on the MP3 section of my site is a NEW SONG! It's hot.....

July 25, 2003

Going back to New York next week for Wendy's trade show and a Furious George show, and just to see old friends and get drunk at old bars, and throw-up in cabs, on the sidewalk, and near the toilet. Been having weird dreams lately like I'm LIVING back in NYC, and can't find house because it got blown-up. I can't remember where my step-father lives, nor can I remember that we actually have a house!!! Then I remember we have a house and wonder what the fuck I'm doing in New York City. Then I wake up. Truth is, I'm now fearful of NYC. I'm happy here in my new house, and don't want to ever lose it - or the joy it has brought the family. And the weather here rules. So it's a bit hot during the summer. The rest of the year is PERFECT! Anyway, also been working toward getting my book(s) out. Above is a photo of my elementary school bus-stop where I was beaten-up daily. It brings back such wonderful memories. I'll have a new MP3 up in a day or so, and will update the site as soon as I can.

August 12, 2003

Made it back from New York alive. That was fun. It was great to see everyone, although, I didn't really get to see all that many people as I spent the time there hungover from my first two-night drinking binge. Blech. The FG show was fun, and THE LOADED UNDIES rule, as does my band, Stevie, Evan, and Michael. Oh, Dean rules, too. That is all. Except there is a new song on the MP3 section of the site. It's Joey Ramone singing Gilligan. Just because!

August 23, 2003

Yeah. So The A.P. finally reports about the "dust" in lower Manhattan and how dangeroius it is. Oh, and that due to "national security", it really couldn't be talked about. Whatever. I'm glad I'm here and outta that shit. Everyone who thought I was nuts may want to think again. In the meanwhile, I'm gonna try real hard not to remember the last couple of years. Beer should take care of that. Sorry I'm pissy. It's been a rough week. But some congrats are due: especially to Harris Pankin, former singer of my old band, Letch Patrol. He's now a homeless soccer champion! You go, Harris! Also - to me - it looks like I'm finally gonna get to do my books the way we all envisioned them. The right way. And finally, I'd like to thank a new editor who has taken interest in me and is really helping me out very well right now. Thank you. And to that *special* person who introduced us!

September 13, 2003

Well, made it through another September 11th! Phew! Glad that's over. Above are pictures from Scooter's 6th Birthday on September 4th. He got two furry bones and plenty o' treats! Of course, he loved the wrapping the best! Anyway, been working hard on my first book - putting in a zillion hours a day. It's giving me nightmares reliving all the shit I'm writing about - but I'm sure it will all be worth it. I went to the Emerald last week and made some new friends, and saw some old ones. It was great. And of course, the question was asked: "Do you miss New York?" Of course I miss my friends, and even the CBGB, The Continental, and The Mars Bar. But the city? I miss it like a Root Canal. Or like the food poisoning I got a couple of weeks back. Anyway, I get to go to SF for a few days this week for SONY, so that should be fun. Also, got some pretty neat stuff in the mail including a new Cabrones shirt, and an issue of Creamy Fist Magazine, which rules. Anyway, that's about it. Some band called Furious George played here last nite. Little fuckers stole my name and there ain't shit I can do 'cause of Curious George. But who cares - it's nice out, the humming birds and feasting, and the chicks around here wear their skirts unbuttoned to their crotches. Life is beautiful.

September 26, 2003

Just been working on my book a lot and getting depressed. But remembering friends cheers me up. Like the above pictures of Dee Dee and Barbara on their wedding day. The center picture is when Dee Dee actually said "I Do!". Anyway, more updates soon. Oh, and now www.furiousgeorge.com bounces here! Thanks Rat! You are the coolest! There will be more info on Furious George soon. Including new recording details and shows and stuff! And don't worry, it's the same guys! Meanwhile...the book is getting there!

October 7, 2003

This past weekend we lost a dear member of the family, Hunter Littlemouse. He was Maria's dog, and Scooter's best friend. We will miss him more than any words can explain. We love you, Hunter.

October 9, 2004

The rainbow above happened a couple of days after we lost Hunter. It stretched over our entire area and was the hugest and most beautiful rainbow we've ever seen. Call me crazy, but I think it was Hunter letting us know he was okay. In other news, the first draft of the book is with the publisher - and I feel great about that. I've been reading up on Soft Skull and really do dig what they are doing. Oh, I saw Turbonegro here in Phoenix last week at The Mason Jar. Cool club, okay band. Only the encore, "I Got Erection" really rocked. Silly Europeans!

October 18, 2003

Not much new out here in the desert except for the record heat! It was 102 today! This place cooks! Anyway, talked to my pal Dave in New York, who told me he's all involved with Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. It is one of the best games, if not the best, ever. Well, that, and Zelda. Other than that, I must admit I rooted for the Red Sox during the play-offs. But not after the eight inning when they kept that pitcher in. There is no curse..they lost it themselves. So, Go Yankees, once again!

October 30, 2003

So it's almost Halloween. That got me thinking about a few years back when Furious George played as a Rasta band. Later that night I got hassled from the cops. Amazing. This year I'm not sure what I'm gonna do yet. Oh, Nick is coming out here for the holiday season as is my brother Lloyd, his wife, Lisa, and their two kids, Emmy and Elijah! I can't wait! Not much new with the book yet....but soon. Been writing for Ocean drive...did an interview with Mary J. Blige...you can read it here. Also doing some gaming stuff for New York Press, here. More to follow shortly!

November 3, 2003

Scooter went out trick or treating and and met lots of neighbors. He also thrown a huge bone from the neighbors next door. Next year he has promised to stay home to give candy out so WE can go out!

November 12. 2003

Scooter would like it known that he would now like to be called referred to as "Desert Dog", "Mountain Dog", or "Dog Of The Desert" (DOTD). He out-climbed Wendy and I on Camelback Mountain. What else can we say? In other news, someone opened fire with an AK-47 outside of our house. Lovely. I thought we left that crap in New York. Oh well. Oh, the book is at Soft Skull and I should soon have a manuscript. As far as video games go...the NEW Tiger Woods one for the GameBoy Advance is the schnizzle, yo! Punk Rock!

November 30, 2003

It looks like Joey Ramone finally got a street named after him. Or, at least, a corner. Right in front of my living room. CBGB. Congrats to everyone who was involved! In other Ramones news, Monte's book is out and it's called "On The Road With The Ramones" and it is truly great! Very funny and true! Finally, inside stuff!!!!!! Scooter and I had a mellow Gobble Gobble Hey day. Wendy visited her Grams and stuff in SF, and me and the boy "ruffed" it. Meaning, he barked in my face every morning at 7:30 to get up and eat breakfast so I could feed him whatever I'm eating. Some people say he's spoiled. Scooter? Naw....also, DOTD and I climbed even higher on Camelback Mountain on Thanksgiving. One day we'll make it to the top. Other news..John Strausbaugh wrote a GREAT GREAT GREAT intro to my book. I can't thank the guy enough. You go, John! The book should be out in April. Other than that, I found some old Vivid Video DVDs......

December 9, 2003

Well, it's one day before my birthday, so, what do I think about? The old days, of course. The REAL OLD days! When Ms. Bisset (pictured above) was the dream of every little pervert in the United States. France, too, I suppose. Anyway, the book galleys should be ready soon - meanwhile, playing Max Payne 2 after doing Beyond Good And Evil. Oh, got Deus Ex 2 in the mail today! Woo Hoo! Oh - and Furious George is playing in New York City at The Contintenal on January 13th of 2004. See ya'll then!!!!
